Albania: The Hidden Gem of the Balkans

Albania, officially known as the Republic of Albania.

Location of Albania:

It is a small country located in Southeastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, North Macedonia to the east, Greece to the south, and the Adriatic and Ionian Seas to the west.

Albania has a population of about 3 million people. The official language is Albanian, but the residents are speaking Italian and English also.

The highest peak is Mount Korab, which is 2,764 meters (9,066 feet) high. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.

Albania has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The Illyrians, a group of Indo-European tribes, were the first inhabitants of the region. The Greeks and Romans also ruled Albania at different times. In the 15th century, The Ottoman Empire conquered the country and remained under Ottoman rule for over 400 years.

Despite its relatively small size, Albania offers a diverse range of attractions, including stunning natural landscapes, a rich historical and cultural heritage, and warm hospitality.
